Google Reviews are disappearing: just a bug or something more?

Are your reviews missing from your Google My Business profile?
Small businesses around the world are seemingly losing Google Reviews. It’s hurting businesses worldwide, especially Coax customers who sign up to our platform to increase their Google Reviews and get ahead of their competition.
Reviews are seemingly disappearing… or are they?
What’s happening? It seems that Google is having issues that’s causing review count to not display properly. Our own customers are currently being effected but we went in and individually counted their reviews to confirm, they’re all still there. Not only that, but we confirmed that Coax customers were seeing an accurate review count, where Google was miscounting their reviews.

You’re not alone. Even our Coax customers were experiencing the glitch, but we knew it was safe to trust Coax for their review count, even if there might be a bug on Google.

We’ve researched Google’s support pages so you don’t have to and have multiple confirmations from Google Product Experts. There’s no confirmation from Google as to when this will be resolved, which is incredibly frustrating for businesses.

Google has provided an official response
On Tuesday, 11 February 2025 (local Australia time) Google published an official response. Victoria Kroll, a Google Employee has posted on Google Business Profile Help Centre forum confirming the following
We’re aware of an issue affecting some Google Business Profiles, causing some profiles to show lower-than-actual review counts due to a display issue. The reviews themselves have not actually been removed.
